Go RVing campaign set to kick off for 2008
(Nov. 29, 2007) -- The 12-year campaign will feature increased traffic to the Go RVing Web site and more exposure, beginning with a TV slot to air during the Super Bowl XLII pregame show in February of next year.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Industry experts recapped the national 2007 Go RVing campaign and announced plans for its future this week at the 45th annual RVIA trade show.

Gary LaBella, the vice president and chief marketing officer of RVIA, along with Don Walter, co-chairman of the Go RVing coalition, gave a brief overview of the different ads run in 2007 to boost consumer interest in recreation vehicles.

When polled about the impact of the campaign, numbers showed consumers were three times as likely to purchase an RV in their lifetime, with an impact of over 52 percent family awareness about the campaign.

The television ads, narrated by actor Tom Selak, increase awareness of the camping lifestyle by displaying different outdoor family activities such as fishing or tailgating at sporting events.

Airing on over 30 cable networks already this year, popular shows such as American Idol featured the campaign, along with slots during the Bowling Triple Crown and NASCAR.

Print and interactive ads have also been featured in 29 magazine publications and 25 Web sites, including a downloadable commercials available at the Go RVing Web site.

Set for 2008, the media lineup budget has increased over 16 million dollars, with help from 51 contributors, such as GE Commercial, KOA, Winnebago and Thor Industries.
