Florida officers hunting for "big junk" like abandoned RVs

AINES CITY, Fla. -- Starting Monday, city code enforcement officers will target residents with junk vehicles, boats and recreation vehicles. Officials with the city, along with the Police Department, are going to be walking the streets looking for abandoned, junk and unlicensed vehicles, boats and recreation vehicles.

"We are seeing a growing problem in the city with junk and abandoned vehicles," said Steve Shifley, the code enforcement supervisor. "By junk vehicles, we mean any vehicles with flat tires or are in such a state they cannot run on city streets."
