Imagine a consumer looking for a new travel trailer. He googles “RV dealer” and 1,710,000 Web sites are found. Wouldn’t it be nice if a dealer could greatly improve the odds of having his business appear near the top of that list?
Click campaigns are a relatively new online marketing strategy that give dealers lots of control over their marketing campaigns. For smaller dealerships, it helps them compete on equal footing with larger dealers who have larger budgets.
Chris Kramer, president of TrafficDeveloper.com, has been helping small business owners improve their online presence through search engine optimization and other techniques designed to drive traffic to any Web site. Kramer is also an active RVer who purchased a Coachmen Type C motorhome last year to travel the country with his wife and three children.
Kramer thinks the RV industry is ripe for aggressive online marketing in reaching buyers when they are seriously looking to buy.
Targeted campaign
Click advertisements are highly effective tools because they are completely targeted toward potential buyers, Kramer said.
“When people enter “used Type C RV” into a search engine, you know they’re not looking for an ad for dog food,” he explained. “Shoppers are hoping to find information about local dealers in their area selling used Type C RVs.”
Click ads allow them to save time by zeroing in on companies that are likely to offer what they are looking for. They don’t have to wade through page after page of search results trying to find something.
